When I was in high school, there was a group of people who always thought that they were smarter and more intelligent than everyone else.
We called them “The Superior Attitude Club”.
(Unfortunately, they voted me in as a member.)
We would take turns every day voting who was going to be the President, according to who was being the most smart-aleky or arrogant that day.
We had a lot of fun and laughs keeping each other’s egos in check.
It turns out that there are actually Eight Different Kinds of Human Intelligence:
- PeopleSmart (interpersonal intelligence)
- SelfSmart (intrapersonal intelligence)
- WordSmart(verbal-linguistic intelligence)
- BodySmart (bodily-kinesthetic intelligence)
- NatureSmart (NatureSmart (naturalist intelligence)
- ImageSmart (visual-spatial intelligence)
- SoundSmart (musical-rhythmic intelligence)
- LogicSmart (logical-mathematical intelligence)
Different people have different mixes of those basic intelligences. Few people are exactly alike in their mix of intelligences. This model explains why people are often smart in some ways and not so smart in other ways. Here’s a great article discussing that very thing:
Café Philos: an internet café: Eight Kinds Of Human Intelligence
Check it out!
Thank you.
